What are some business initiatives\u2014like launching a new product or service, launching in-person events, expanding a department\u00a0<em>(recruitment)<\/em>, or selling a new ebook or online class?<\/p><p>Write down every business goal and then categorize them into the\u00a0<strong>5 Content Goal Buckets: Brand Awareness, Lead Generation, Engagement, Customer Retention, or Sales.<\/strong><\/p><p>Once you have your WHY down\u00a0<em>(your business goals\/objectives)<\/em>, it\u2019s time to move to your WHAT\u00a0<em>(your content type)<\/em>.<\/p><p>There are\u00a0<strong>3 key components to Content Strategy<\/strong>: you need to determine your\u00a0<\/p><ol><li>Content Type<\/li><li>Content Goals<\/li><li>Content KPIs<\/li><\/ol><p>When choosing the type of content that you would like to share, consider that your content is meant to SERVE your audience\u00a0<em>(by either being informational or delivering actionable advice)<\/em>\u00a0<strong>and\u00a0<\/strong>to help solve\/support a business goal.\u00a0<\/p><p>Below are a few content categories that can serve your audience.<\/p><h2><span style=\"color: #8c4227;\"><strong>Share Thought Leadership Content<\/strong><\/span><\/h2><p>\u00a0<\/p><ul><li>Position your brand as an industry expert.<\/li><li>Become the one-stop shop for all things\u00a0<em>{insert industry}.<\/em><\/li><li>Share trends in the industry and innovations to your products\/services.<\/li><li>Through this content type, you are educating your audience and thus helping them to continue to own their power in the buying process. This creates TRUST in a brand.<\/li><\/ul><h2><span style=\"color: #8c4227;\"><strong>Share Guidelines on How to Best Use Your Product\/Service<\/strong><\/span><\/h2><p>\u00a0<\/p><ul><li>Help your customers, help you.
